How to Save a Video on Instagram

You can save a video on Instagram by copying the post or Reel link and pasting it into a browser-based downloader like ClipSaver. The video downloads as an MP4 file to your phone or computer. No Instagram login is required, and the process takes under a minute.

Can You Save Videos from Instagram?

Yes. Instagram does not offer a built-in “download to camera roll” button for other people’s videos, but you can save public posts by copying the share link. ClipSaver reads that link and gives you a downloadable MP4 file. This works for feed videos, Reels, and most public posts you can open in the app or on the web.

Only save content you own or have permission to download. ClipSaver is not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.

Tips When Saving Instagram Videos

  • Use the official “Copy link” option so the URL is correct.
  • Public posts work best. Private accounts and locked content cannot be downloaded.
  • If a download fails, check that the post is still available and try again in a few minutes.
  • On iPhone, after downloading, open Files or Photos to find your saved MP4.
  • For audio from a Reel or video, select MP3 instead of MP4 on the format list.
